NOT EVERY LAWYER IS THE SAME! John D. Grandfield has been in the private practice of law since 1980 and has been concentrating in landlord-tenant law, real estate law, and advising small businesses for more than thirty-five years. After taking an early interest in Landlord-Tenant law, John has practiced before the Boston Housing Court (now the Eastern Housing Court) since before the Housing Court Department expanded to its current multiple court system. Since the expansion of the Housing Court Department, John has practiced in the Northeast (Essex and parts of Middlesex Counties), Southeast (Plymouth and Bristol Counties), and Central, formerly Worcester, (primarily Worcester County) Housing Courts. John genuinely enjoys the fast pace and strict attention to detail required in Landlord-Tenant cases. "Preparation, preparation, preparation" is his mantra. Long experience has shown that "he who is best prepared" usually wins. Real Estate practice is a refreshing change of pace. While still involving tight deadlines and attention to detail, in general Real Estate is or should be about achieving a common goal. John uses his knowledge and experience to approach real estate matters as a cooperative rather than adversarial venture. Buying or selling property is stressful enough, John considers it a priority to reduce that stress rather than add to it. John will be there to guide you through the purchase or sale of your home from start to finish. Whether it is the first home that you have ever purchased or the sale of multi-family property, John Grandfield is the person with the experience and personal touch that you deserve and will come to expect from the legal professionals that work for you. In business, John will take the time to discuss your individual needs and assist you in creating the business entity that “works for you”. John has advised many small business owners and entrepreneurs with their business formation and operating needs and looks forward to assisting many more in the future as the local economy continues to expand and grow.
John Grandfield strongly believes that well informed clients are the happiest clients. Anxiety and apprehension can be and is addressed by really listening to his clients and providing guidance and answers to your questions. John makes a practice of explaining to his clients what is going on and what to expect. This may be your first case or your first deal, but it is not John's.
